22RE wont stay running

my daughter and son in law bought Vman's 88 4runner its ran GREAT for the last few weeks, ran great this weekend at Superlift, then when we left it started running BAD, then got worse.   I had to tow it home from Bismark (30 miles) it starts but then quickly dies, ive checked cam timing, dist timing, fuel pump, fuel filter, compression, cat, it starts runs a bout 30-40 seconds then dies.

grounds are good, we swapped tps for a known good one,  also removed the cat because we thought it was clogged, after tweaking everything we have it running longer but it still doesnt have enough power to move  on its own.

long shot here but could it be a bad clutch ?

coolant sensor?   mine was acting funny like that and i did lot of searching "coolant sensor" kept poping up in my searches for sporadic idle and other symptoms.   :crossed:   hope you figure it out

     Don't blame for this one.... :nonono:   Sorry to hear that.. :-\   This is a long shot, but any one at Superlift take a real dislike to you or the kids?   I'd check for rust or stuff in the fuel filter and/or tank. 

Could have been rusty at the top and when you started filling it, the rust comes loose...Also works if you put bleach in the tank, bleach rusts the tank over night and the rust clogs the lines and filter... :dunno:

batt connections good, spins it over great

dont have anything to check fuel pressure with i dont think

put new filter on and a fuel pump from another nearby (dont tell Vman) runner thats KNOWN to run very well

It starts right back up after it stalls?
Does it lose Fire, fuel pressure, or injector pulse??

Can you put a manual fuel pump on it at the carb and pour the fuel in from a drink bottle

Joe, i just confirmed it DOES NOT have an injector pulse

i tested for power to #1 injector and both sides had power BUT when i tested between the two wires of the injector wire it had none, and when doing the pulse test it never flashed at all

i swapped the solenoid thing on the inner pass side fender for a different one and it didnt change

Try another afm, and take the intake air hose off, at throttle body,  have someone crank it over and spray brake cleaner in there and see if it runs off that.
Dr.Maxwe001 – well i have a 15 gal compressor now and if I gett he 60  and then use the 15 as a reserve that wil give me 75 gal  thats close to 80 isnt it ?

we have confirmed its not getting signal to the injectors, we did this by first checking if it would run on starting fluid which it did, it ran fine till i quit spraying

So, when it starts it sounds like your running off the cold start injector then.

Are you getting power into the inj. relay?  I'd try another ECM just for good measure.  O2 sensor?  Try getting any codes off the ECM?
