In my back yard, that's a rat!
In the woods, away from my yard where they destroy nearly everything I plant, they are fine. In my back yard deer are vermin, destructive rats. What's more is if it's not something they like to eat they uproot it and it dies. In my back yard they're rats.
Don't mind sharing, but if they take a couple of tomatos and a squash then uproot ALL of the plants in the garden they need to go. And persistant! 3 fences they have to get through or over, 3. I need to get a big freezer.
Never had issues with wildlife before I bought this place. These rats seem to have some homing program to this yard. The neighbors have a lot of the same plants I have here, BUT, for some reason the rats prefer to traverse my obstacle course to destroy my yard while the neighbors don't even have a fence. Cougar piss doesn't do anything other than make my yard smell bad.ike I said, in MY yard......
So is this an attaempt at a silly little rhyme? Or is a childrens story of a skunk befriending a skink in the works?

The Cryptoblepharus egeriae, more commonly known as the Christmas Island Blue-Tailed Skink, once inhabited Christmas Island. The Christmas Island Blue-Tailed Skink was discovered in 1886. The critically endangered blue-tailed skink became virtually extinct back in 2009, but a breeding program run by Parks Australia and Taronga Zoo has seen their numbers swell to about 1,500.They are everywhere here. I'll run across 6 or 7 in a given week.
