I love this.... ...Look who decided to grace us with his presence....
Mike, you're making me want to build a 3rd gen tacoma Did you make it up soup bowl?
Yes, very nice sticker!...The cool black 4Runner? Yes! That is Nathan! He is an awesome guy Thanks man, it's quite the learning experience. When I ran Rubicon two months ago for TLCA so many things seemed impossible and now this time around I tried a few "impossible" lines and to my surprise was making them. My confidence and comfort level has gone up drastically since July and now I've figured out three specific lines that gave me huge issues last time. It still feels like I'm taking a limousine Suburban through the trail but I'm quite impressed at how quickly I've been able to make approach and line adjustments. The last tough spot down the Big Sluice before the bridge was n-a-s-t-y. I got hung up pretty bad through there. Last time it was those new boulders at the top of Cadillac that required effort, one boulder of which has since been moved, but this time it was that spot before the bridge that was the worst. As for Soup Bowl I tried for a solid half hour with about 5 different lines and couldn't make it. The main issue was in that above picture I am smack dab on my frame rail. I need a few more inches ground clearance (for comparison my '81 Hilux on the same size tires has nine inches more ground-to-frame clearance, seriously). The secondary issue was that I really needed to get my driver's rear over more such as the nice line you have pictured above, but the Tacoma is so freaking long and currently only has a plastic rear bumper so I couldn't parallel park over far enough to get that approach without destroying plastic. I tried like a 10 point parallel park maneuver to try to get over more but there was no way.Love the last pic from your pass. front tire Nice creativityWhat diameter are your MTRs?Regards,BigMike
Sweet, I was hoping somebody would start a thread like this. I almost started one myself, but I'm lazy.
Were you able to get your AW11 to the Springs?
