Started the wiring, it's not nearly as hard as I thought it was going to be.  Just a little time consuming.

Yeah I picked one up, I was just being lazy this afternoon.  After about 5 hrs straight of wiring I really didn't feel like dealing with that.  I am headed to vegas this weekend so Im sure after that I will feel back up to it.

I have a question about wiring the ignition.  On my 83 I have the ignition spots IG1, ST1, ACC and AM.  On the 96 ignition it has IG1, IG2, ST1, ST2, AM1, AM2 and ACC.  My question is how do I make the extra spots in the ignition to mate the 2 ignitions together?  ie how do I create the IG2, ST2, AM2, in my 83 ignition or do I even need to make these spots, can I just connect IG1 and IG2 together and so forth?  Any help on how to do this would be much appreciated.  I have figured all the rest of the wiring out except for this and it is driving me crazy!

So I have 95% of my wiring done.  I got it to turn over the other day, however, I haven't got it to start yet cause I need a fuel tank.  Off to pick and pull tomorrow to look for one, hopefully I will luck out and find one.  I am itching to get this thing to start.  I am trying to flat belly this at the same time also, which is adding quite a bit of work.  I want to have this running by july 4.

Got my fuel tank installed and I got my truck running!  Three months after I started I finally got it running!  Now, on to all the little things, and a few big ones.  Tomorrow I am going to try to finish mounting my transfer case.  I will take some pictures and post them on my attempt to flat belly it.

So I got my transfer case mounted today.  I was able to get it 99.9% flat belly, the only spot that hangs down is drain plug on the rear case by about 1/4".  It was a full day of cutting, welding, grinding, cursing and falling asleep under my truck, but it went together a lot easier then I thought it was going to and it came out pretty good.  Some one was asking for a write up so I will try to expand a little on the pictures.

I knew about a year ago when I first started building my truck that I would want to flat belly it.  So when I was buying my dual case setup I made sure I got it rotated, that helped a ton in getting it above the frame rails.  Also, when I was installing my engine before I welded the mounts to the frame I had my transmission attached and I raised the whole unit to flat belly level.

I started out by cutting the tunnel out.  Just cut big from the start, I ended up cutting it about an inch wider about five times.

I ended up modifying my FROR crossmember.  I cut the wings off of it and welded a 2"x6"'x3/8" plate to each end. Then I welded some 1 and 1/4" box tubing to it and welded it to 1/4" thick weldable bushing from Ballistic Fabrication.  I could have cut the remainder of the 3/8 off but I made it long to begin with because I wasn't sure where I was going to mount the crossmembers. I decided to leave it long in case I need to add more supports and also because it does not interfere with anything.

Put some paint on it.

Installed

To mount the bushings I used two pieces of 1/4" angle.

View of the underside.  Just the rear drain plug hangs down a tad.

I still have to make the tunnel and get a sheet of steel for the skid plate but I am pretty happy how it turned out.

Sweet man, it's looking really good. I'm glad to hear that you got it running. What did you figure out with your ignition switch?

You guys think from where the tabs hang down back in towards the transfer case or out towards the frame rails?
