I the biggest down draw I hear is the pavement is going to wear them rear tires down quick.

there are alot of write ups on this on here.... its cheap, i run one on my daily driver. you just have to get used to the tire chirp and change your driving style accordingly.  it also wears tires out faster but hey, offroad they rock  :rockingout:  If you wheel alot and dont drive a whole lot in town then weld it. if you have the funds get a selectable like an Elocker or an arb. there's my  :twocents:    :beerchug:

You may also want to consider a spool locker, they are by far the cheapest locker available and do the exact same thing. I'd recommend this if you have hesitation about welding to your 3rd. If you are confident about your welding, they do it up.

Youll get used to having it welded..

It DOES eat tires insanely fast though. so keep that in mind.

No its not like that at all..

they do wear out fairly fast though, at least from what i have experienced.

I have 35" pro comp xterrains and there is noticeable wear in the back tires.... been less than 6months.

i'd weld it if it was my ride, this is something i've been thinkin about as well. if you weld the front though you won't notice unless your locked in right?

That V-6 rear never holds up welded...  I've had several buddies who had the same failure. The 4cyl diff welded all up hasn't been a problem for us though.

Same thing I see, lots of blown up v6 welded difs, but not too many 4 cyls. I run only welded rear, Ill take the slight loss in turning ability, for the full predictability it gives any day.
