dual case sound??
« on: Feb 12, 2010, 07:35:03 PM »
After installing my tg dual cases and using the stock crossmember everything was fine, but once i went flat belly the rear case started to make a whining noise of somekind. So i added a cv rear joint and its not as bad now but is still there. If i move the rear shifter (just a little) it will make a grinding noise. Like something is spinning thats not suppose to be?

Whats the deal?

First of all, your not gonna get any sympathy here when it comes to TG parts, new or used.  We get too many people that come on here to pregnant dog about having an issue with a aftermarket item and it comes out later that they aren't even Marlin's.  So, we get a little pissy when that happens.  It's like going to Ford and trying to have them fix your problem with a Chevy!!

Here's my ? for you, what type of tranny mount are you using?  Solid or factory mounts.  Did you readjust the pinion angle?  How's the u-joints?
And the more modifications you do the more possibility that you are gonna have to live with more sounds.
And TG stuff is cheaper over Marlin's for a reason.

It could be as simple as now that you have a huge flat plate under there its reflecting the noise back up. And its been that way the whole time.
Dr.Maxwe001 – well i have a 15 gal compressor now and if I gett he 60  and then use the 15 as a reserve that wil give me 75 gal  thats close to 80 isnt it ?

I think its just my driveline angle still. stock duals. stock mounts.

Cheese I appreciate the explanation. And then the help, not just saying some jerk thing then not providing any help.
