So this is my first post.  I've been on TTORA for a few years, but I just picked up my '83 4x4: SR5, 5-speed, functional factory a/c, factory p/s, Weber 32/36.  I just picked up a wider '86 rear axle today and also will be converting the front to Tacoma brakes.  Got lots of work ahead of me it looks like.

I know it's pretty rough at this point, but it's in good hands.

Here is the IFS wide rear axle going in the back:

This thing rides like a damn log truck.  The shocks are shot in it, but still it is very stiff.  Is this to be expected with taller leaf springs all the way around?

The springs were installed before 1992 (when the previous owner bought the truck).  They are either Pro-Comp or Rancho.  I might just keep them and run some Bilstein shocks.

yeah pro crap and rancho and superlift are probly the most stiff springs you can buy for a mini!

Haha, yup, they wouldn't have been my first choice.  Also, I was trying to dead lift that rear axle out of the back of my Tacoma, damn!  I picked the whole thing up, but I don't think I'll be taking it out of the bed by myself!
