we have been having a heck of a fun time with the new 4runner and thought it would be a good day to tackle some of those geocaches that are on some of saskatchewans mucky summer roads...
i also thought it would be a good day for my girlfriend Lori to learn how to drive a 4x4,  being that she has very little experience with one...

we hit a bunch of caches north west of town and then i let her hit the road............................... and then the ditch.  it was fun, although as we were falling into the ditch i was having  flashbacks of the last time i was in a 92 4runner and rolled a few years ago. (what the heck is it with these damn 4runners!! ) .. just as we hit the ditch and i started to feel the truck go over it decided not to and yeesh...  i had to check my shorts..
i was able to steer into the ditch and get us out but it was quite a fun first time letting Lori drive the truck...  the best thing is that the truck owes us nothing and this is why we bought it so its all good...  i need a rear locker though.  :driving:
here are the pics..

Lori doing her happy stance of triumph!!

Good move going down into the ditch before driving it back out. Some would have done the opposite and rolled it.

How do you put a truck in the ditch on a straight, flat road?  :headscratch:

yeah, those summer roads are so damn slick when they get any kind of moisture on them.(mud and clay mixture.).  they made the tires look like chocolate donuts on the 4runner and all traction was lost at that point...    here is a civic that tried to follow us the week before down a summer road and the wheel wells got so full the tires almost couldnt turn... same thing happened to us and that poor 3litre doesnt have the power to clear anything out of that "all terrain" tread..

it was definitelly a close call though..
