Where to begin....
Like I said over in the newbie area, I've been moderately wheeling a stock tacoma over the last year and looking for a truck to start building. This will be a slow build (my work is commission based) and my first attempt to build a trail rig. I've decided to go with marlin parts and have found the site here very helpful.
Anyways, I'm starting out with an 83 truck with some serious carb issues. I've got a replacement carb on the way. I'm basically just cleaning the thing up now and waiting on more cash to come in. My plan is to guy some brake line extentions (whoever lifted it didn't do that), a rear locker, fix the carb, and wheel it like I stole it. As stuff breaks, or cash becomes more abundant, I plan to get a marin 4" trail flex kit along with axle rebuild and chromoly axles.
I'm in an active rock crawling club so help and knowledge is abundant... cash is not. Here are some pics of it the day I brought it home.
