Link to my member log in if you notice the dates of the post you realize the truck has been around for a few years now, I sas'd it Spring/summer of 07 and attended the Mcr that year.  Since then tons of finer details and modification, but because of  some tragic events i decided a build thread is needed.

the box, Mcr  08

i'm sure many of you have seen this rig in tons of other threads i have been wheelin with avid marlin forum users!

Friday July 24th 09, 6:40 Am

On my way to work tired from a night of freakin with the ol lady i fell asleep on Hwy 20 west bound to penn valley (5 miles west of Grass Valley), Crossed 3 lanes of traffic (on coming lanes also) drove off the road

Looking west down Hwy 20 on the south side of the road  about 1 mile west of the Nevada county fair grounds

My uncle owns a brush clearing service, he has a masticator and it looks like a mastictor made that path so a friend of mine put his sign up as a joke

binojames

That weekend i found a really good deal on a new cab.... but an extended cab

thegoofster21 and his wife helped tons to pull that cab, Thanks guys

binojames

I don't want ANYONE to say this thread is worthless without pics!!

binojames

so i started to disassemble my truck, and the new cab also, it was a v6 cab and i have a standard cab 4 cyl.  so i had to unwire 2 cabs and rewire the new on... FUN.

binojames

At this point i was waiting for some parts and still deciding on what to do, So i painted the cab fenders and hood  "brilliant teal metallic"

binojames

The new cab wasn't going to clear the rear wheels. I have to extend the wheel base!   slight problem I bob'd my old bed 14 inches and hacked off about 8 inches of frame.... unless i extend the frame i couldn't use my marlin 5" inch springs. I wasn't always completely satisfied with the flex of springs, but my marlins did great for a few years! I decided to 4 link the rear to extend my wheel base. I know everyone has there differences with trail-gear but i went ahead and purchased the trial- gear 4 link.  When i ran into more problems but some minor cutting and welding it WORKs!

Trail-gear 4 link x-memeber slides inbetween the frame rails but then sits about 4 inches Above the frame rails which wasn't going to allow the extended cab to sit low enough.

binojames

Old fenders hood and doors where used ... but painted ,   in the pic it is pretty much done... but i need to rebuild the cage, and the bed will be some sort of tube workings and also my big  :pokinit:  gas tank will be mounted  in the back somewhere   I'm running the old vin (dash and Sticker) frame numbers match so as long as no one runs my vin i will be fine  :lipsrsealed:

sad but not running yet but very soon the tubing came in Thursday and i will be bending it at a shop here in town but i have to work around the owner, pretty much when he says i can use the bender and tie up some space in the shop

binojames

you may recognize this pic from a "Teaser Pic"  thegoofster21 post some time last week!

yeah EVERYTHING... I even did the gauge cluster so it matches and also the v6 had all options crusie control so i had to put my old turn signals, headlight switches behind the steeringwheel and for shits and giggles i changed the key cluster so my old key works to match my old doors, the dash even had different brackets i had to use the old brakets. the fire wall/ fenders are different so i made do with the power steering res. I used the  old clutch pedal brackety out of the old truck and alot of lil :pokinit:

Any guy who takes his woman wheeling enjoys her. A woman who is owned is left at home to cook, clean, and keep beer cold. So if this offends you you should stop looking and go have some tacos.    :rofl2: And a beer. If your old enough.   :beerchug:
