picked this up from a friend for practicaly free so I figured ether fix it up and sell it or build it up and wheel it for a while its an 86 ford bronco 2 4x4 2.9 V6 5 speed stock with 215/75/15s on 15x7 black/chrome wheels

i had a stock longbed ranger with the 2.9 in it on some BS 215s and it wheeled retardedly well. and ran great and got good gas mileage. kinda fun little rigs but it seems like building the, is sorta impractical. mine took a helluva beating though.

its was free so I wouldnt mind putting a lil money in it to make it trail ready I have some 31s just sitting around so I want to try to put those on with 2-4" lift and weld the rear or just fix it up and wheel it as is with 1-2" lift

The stock front end isnt all that strong so depending on how you drive you might run into problems with the 31s. Iv been told that swapping over the front end from an Explorer is near bolt on and its supposed to be considerably stronger. I was never easy on mine ( to the floor 2nd gear 4lo launches up slick rock climbs ) and Im surprised i n4ever broke anything that wasnt my fault. For ex: twisted an axleshaft when the U joint KO'd, and chipped 6-8 ring gear teeth after wheeling with only mud in the front diff.

the biggest thing i hated about it was how nothing seemed "organized" on the truck. I had to drop the gas tank to do a fuel pump and there were bolts in all sorts of dumb places. Compared to Toyota's simple 3 on each side.

But whatever you decide to do goodluck, I had a ton of fun in mine.
