We have started a blog to better express what we are going through and feel during each shoot. We'll be talking a little about equipment, but nothing too complicated, unless it's requested. 2011 brings the new!

Very cool Kyle.  Is that three separate pics, or one shot?

I've been wanting to get out and shoot some pics.  But the weather has been so crappy, aka Downpour.  (averaging over a 1" a day)  Or when I get off work, it's almost dark, and no time to go and grab some evening pics.  And on the days off, I've been playing catchup on things that can't be done after work due to it being dark.
Miss ya Dean (4THEWKN) & Kyle (KYOTA)!!

4THEWKN~9/17/2006  If it wasn't for you, I'd be driving something other than a Toyota!

Ha ha, that's a cool photo.

Nice.  I don't want to know what the tripod cost.  Cause the setup I want is over $200.  :yikes:  I'm having a hard time to justify that.  I'm thinking I could start out with something lower.  Until I can afford one like yours.

Fixed it for ya.  ;)

jrock

You always shoot in such a low f/, whenever I try to shoot that low I get a lot of depth. Are your shots more in focus because of all the lights you use?

MiniSimp

Depends on each shot.

For landscape I shoot between f8 and f11 depending on what lens I am using, as each lens has a sharpness "sweet spot" to it.
For portraits/close up I shoot as low as possible in order to get only my subject in perfect focus and everything else out of focus.

This is a really good DOF calculator that I use for portrait/close up work http://www.tawbaware.com/maxlyons/calc.htm

You can find your lens sweet spot here (any review that has "tested" next to it) http://www.slrgear.com/reviews/showcat.php/cat/2
Example in attached photo for the Sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6 EX DC HSM

You will also need to find your camera's Circle of Confusion
