It was ok.
No snow, no water, Mirror was dry, Hetch Hetchy was dry!  :yikes:
Should be perfect next weekend though, after the rain...

I really like the bridge one, too bad it kinda blends in with the background too much.  I'm amazed the deer still hasn't shed it antlers yet!

I just saw a show on the History channel, How the Earth Was Made, and it was about Yosemite.  It was really interesting on how Half Dome, El Capitan (sp?) and surrounding formations were formed and why they are the hardest known granite in all the Sierra Nevada.

you flip it vertically after you stitch the photos in to one picture.

:rivers: call me stupid i just don't understand how (or why you would need to) you flip a 360. if you take photos starting at point A and you shoot 180 degrees to point B then continue shooting another 180 degrees back to point A, why is a flip needed? and how do you not get double if you flip?

the two photos you posted I can see where the flip point is and if you follow it around you can see that what is on the right side (or top) is identical to the left side (or bottom). this is not happening from what i can tell, in the mindkiller photo. if you draw the letter A and flip it to the right you get double. AA. if you flip it vertically on top of itself you get just A. the letter A is symetrical though, the mindkiller photo is not.

i don't get it!

How much do you edit your pictures Kyle?  Cause the blue in the sky is an incredible blue.  And do you shoot with a polarizing filter?

Not much editing, I just put the camera on "shade" white balance and it auto darkens the sky. I think it shoots around 7500 Kelvin. Only editing was a level adjustment.

Oh, and the only filter I shoot with is a Neutral Density filter, but not in those shots, usually in shots where I want to show motion during the day. The one I have is a 0.9

What do you use to change the format?

When you edit in PhotoShop what do you save pictures as? PSD?

You shoot in RAW. Then after editing you save as JPEG. So how do you change your unedited pictures to JPEG? Or do you not? I ask because I can not upload to anywhere on the web in RAW. So I stopped shooting in it.

You have to convert your file from raw to jpeg first then edit and save

So what do you use to convert them?

I thought CS3 edited in whatever format you give it. It then converted to whatever you wanted. RAW is just the best format to edit from.

So you shoot in RAW and then the camera converts or a computer software from Canon converts?

Okay. So why do you shoot in Raw just to convert later to Jpeg before editing? I think your loosing a bit of quality. ?

Because I can change the exposure, white balance, color, sharpness and about 10 other things that I can't do with a normal jpeg. After I have it the way I want it, there is very little editing. Which is good cause PS6 is ghetto, but it's what I've got.

I'm not very good at portraits, but here is a shot of David (my 3yr old) being very dramatic.
