that or get your self a couple of top shift /tcases and start to build them on the side.   then just wheel with what you have now.    that's what i did.    love the duals and there not hard to build. if you have the basic mechanical skills.    you will find that you are going to want them later.  chain case's i guess aren't that strong
:dunno:    never broke my v/6 one i had.
i love oregon wheelin.

the ultimate case setup in my opinion it duals with the MC07-R10 adapter (flat belly with skid) with a 23 spline 4.70:1total spline gearset in the rear case and a longfield output shaft... lots of cash though

it is a lot of cash but im wishing i had 4.7s and a clocked adaptor at the moment... lol.

Just becaus your a newb doesnt mean duals aren't amazing. It is hard to explain but just withing the last couple of years wheeling has changed so that without them its like a totally different world. You don't always need them but it makes things so much nicer on your rig not to mention you can have a lot more fun. Not necasarily by doing harder stuff you can just play around on stuff and not just hit it.
But a single 4.7 case is legit as well

went up goat last night with a buddy in a jeep that knows the area really well and man, we found some crazy trails, one took us probably hour and a half to do and it was dry! then we went up the back way to the towers which was a fun little rock hill climb.. so far the truck is doing awesome, bumper stayed on with the two welds left too lol after that one trail though i def need lower gearing so there isnt as much clutch action

just find the extra case on craigslist and order the adapter from marlin.... DO NOT USE A TRAIL GEAR ADAPTER THEY ARE JUNK!!! you may have to wait for a marlin adapter but believe me its well worth the wait!

and as for the tow rig... MUST BE NICE!

mattlosch

thanks man, i love it so far, i hate the way it looks so thats going to be one of the first things i change, then after that some dual cases and then some 36'' iroks on some trail ready's.....

my plans are to get rid of all the diamond plate, replace with sheet metal, paint rear beg/cage bumper and sliders black and the cab flat green or black, and probably get a new bumper with a single bend stinger...
