Newbie in CA

Hello all!  Had my first real dose of rock crawling as a tag along with my boyfriend (blackdog) on the roundup this weekend.  I told him that he was hereby forced to give me his '86 4Runner that is sitting in the backyard with a blown head gasket so that next year I can play too.  For a mechanics daughter, I know more than some people but less than I should so this should be a great learning experience for me.  I expect I'll be on here quite frequently for tips and advice!  Wish me luck!

You're right though, this would be a great learning experience. First off, get the thing running (learn the engine side of stuff), then when you know that :pokinit: inside and out, you can start on tearing out the front end :yupyup:

no if....WHEN!  lol well first i'm going to rebuild the engine.  i wanna take it apart and put it back together so i know how to do it and how it works.  beyond that i'm not even entirely sure what the first step would be.  jason and my dad (and everyone on here too i'm sure) are going to have to help supply me with a game plan.  basically i want to get in and get my hands dirty and learn as much as i can.  there's a reason for the name i picked ;)

His name is Jason and the last I checked he wears a mask for a living, breaks down doors, smashes windows, busts through roofs, rips walls down, cuts cars with a saw while people are in it, etc, etc.
