Ordered my bellhousing from a place in Oregon on Wednesday right around noon and it got to my doorstep today. Also smogged it today with my rebuilt 22re and it passed. Hopefully having the motor pulled out this weekend and the new one beginning to go in this coming week.

If anyone needs any toyota parts theres a toyota dismantler in Creswell OR (Eugene area) and the dud said they have like 800+ toyotas. The prices were very reasonable too, it was $70 shipped for the W59 bellhousing.

Since  there's so much interest about my build I figured I'd update it..

Old 22re is out. New bell housing is on. Pretty much all 22re stuff is out of engine bay. Going to re route clutch lines and fuel lines tonight. Hopefully have new motor mounts made and on tonight and motor stabbed in. Should hopefully be running by the weekend.

This swap is pretty easy. People shouldn't be scared of the wiring either. Swapping a motor into a truck that already had efi is pretty easy.

Just got it 85% done....

:pokinit: rips! Id never thought id say this, but that was worth the swap from a 22re, well, at least for how much I have spent/how long it took. It was easy.

Lets see some pics of the updated engine bay!

BTW, did you have a build thread for your old single cab 3rz taco on here (couldn't find it by searching)?  Almost traded you a few years ago, now going to be building something similar.

Thanks.

I got a good deal and it was easy

I already said that. Apparently you don't read

Out of all the crap I have talked about never doing a 3rz swap.... im going to get one. I love my rebuilt 22re but its just too gutless for the weight of my rig. I know that a 3rz isnt much more but for how cheap I am getting it, its really too hard to pass up.

Id rather not spend the time/hassle of swappign in a new motor, however, this one is ready to swap right in. Its already sitting in a 91 toyota so I just have to splice in the needed wires to make it run and boom. I will have to do a lot of work to get it smog legal, but it will be fine, for now.

I really want a 5.3 but that wont be coming soon. I just cant justify spending the money to put in a 5.3 and still have toyota cases behind it. Thats just asking for disaster. If I were to do a 5.3 id definitely want an atlas.

1uzs are tight. I'd love to have one. Maybe once I buy a house I'll do that. For now this motor rocks

ya, utah. its going great. besides not living in yota land anymore. I see none. Its all heeps and full size out here. Rust is real bad with anything older than 96. Im planning on buying a cali toy and bringing it out here cause the rust problem is so bad.

guess i have missed out on a lot already lol

Updates?

Ummmm lets see here. Motor is still rippin hard. I sold my Evo and this was my DD up until about a month ago I HAD to buy another car just cause i was over driving my runner. Took it to the hammers for KOH and walked every single trail I took it on (Turkey a few times, Claw, Jack, Sledge, and a couple others but I forget which ones). At hammesr I did blow up a front drive line and broke the two studs off my 60 again so to fix it we had a dual shield Lincoln diesel powered welder and we took some half inch and welded it to the housing and to the leaf spring plate. It should hopefully never come off until I do links/coilovers. When there was more snow too I was up at my cabin rippin the hell out of it. Good times.

Other than that I havent done too much. Did some PRP seats in the front which are badass. Made a new rear bumper using old pieces of Marlin bumper on the side, 2x2 in the middle cross section, and then a piece of 1.5x.120 tube as a little kick out off of it.

Just been rockin it hard any time I want and its reliable. Its nice. I have broke two D60 stub shafts and hubs though which was gay. I did get a new driveline made too and its now *almost* nicer to drive than my Lexus IS300.

I left the stock tank. I just routed it in front of the front case and back to the stock location. I didnt do my swap smog legal, though, it wouldnt be too hard to make it legal.

Yeah.... Oops.

Motor has been running great.

Only issue now is i had a slight mishap on the rubicon and needless to say, my 4runner is a tin can that will never see the trail again  :rivers:

Rolled it at the end of the box down, from what I was told to called, million dollar hill. Whole thing is absolutely destroyed.

Got a new body for it but I'm going to be doing a whole bunch of work to make it better.
