I think it looks worse then it was.  Held up great for holding my truck up for 2 days.

Heres some pics of the finished axle.

I was off a little on the pinion angle.  Looks like im bout 3-4 degrees high now.  Still much better then it was before.
Plus im a much better welder now so the perches are even stronger.

jrock

That's better?

haha... lookin' good Josh.

Ive been working on the ford last few days.  Im gonna get the pinion rotated back down some and besides the rear drive line its pretty much done.

Nope........almost done with what I need to do on ford then I am gonna finish yota.  I cant afford another steering box right now so I am gonna have to run without hydro assist for the roundup.  Maybe by then I will find one but who knows.  Really all I need to do with my yota is fix rear axle pinion angle and adjust the valves again.  I do need another rear drive shaft but I need to find one cheap 1st.

crazykooter

Decided it was time to take a break on the ford.  I liked having the roll bar in the back but it really was taking up more room then I wanted.  Plus on the freeway it was a little bit of a sail.
Since my hi lift jack was on the roll bar I had to find a good place for it.  Decided to mount it to the bed rail on the passenger side.   The pic I posted shows it before I installed some rubber bushings to keep it from vibrating.
Ill post a done pic later.

Im gonna head out to the shop in a sec and finish that, then start making another rear drive shaft.  I have a drive shaft that came off a camaro but it seems to be the same outer diameter as the toy shafts. But its a thicker wall tube so this should make a great trail shaft.  Ill take some pics of the tubing once I cut it.  Dont think im gonna put a cv on it this time.

After the trip to the rubithon this year I was not very happy with the rear flex.  I have a extra set of shackles so I am gonna set my truck up for dual shackles.   Also gonna put plates on it so I can lock the upper shackle into place with a bolt or pin.   My shocks still have like 4-5"s of drop out left.

I am in the process of making my factory toyota e locker switch light work.  Ive already pinned the plug so I believe I just need to put the switch into the loop of the light green/black wire that runs to the factory ecu.
Not sure if its gonna be bright enough to see in day time but I can always shade it to see.

My rear pinion angle isnt right even after I shimmed it down 2.5 degrees.  I will fix it after the roundup.  Gonna be towing my rig up there so its not gonna be an issue.

I think once ive done this stuff my truck will be good to go for the roundup.   Im sure I can find some other little stuff to do but nothing that important.

Nope  Not much to to do on the yota.   All I have left to do is fix my front drive shaft.

so how did the toyota do?

Power steering pump, fuel, and a driver side flop. But i didn't see him after the raffle.

Ya was another interesting roundup for me.  I can fix the drivers side no problem but I cant fix my droid which wont turn on now.  Not sure when it got messed up.  Oh well.
Plus my ford started making a really odd noise on the way home.  Not sure what it is.  Ill look into it tomorrow.  Beyond the noise it did well.  I let all the air out of the front tires to get more weight forward and it handled much better then on the way up.   Atleast I am home and can relax.   I did stay at ellis on sunday night and left this morning.
Ill post up some pics later.  Need to relax now.

I decided to post a few pics of the damage done when I flopped it again this year.   I plan on fixing the cab which will be fairly easy since its just pushed in.  The ding in the bed I dont care about and for the front fender I am just gonna take it off and pound it out so it doesnt look as bad.  Down the road I will replace the fender and the doors.  Then I will have good donors for half doors.  I do need to make it so my window will roll up easier.  Just a little tweaking there.

I will be getting another ifs box to fix my hydro assist.  Even when I am in 2wd on the street I can hear the pump whining so its getting replaced as soon as I am done with putting the trans back into my ford.
I want to get out one more time this year.  Really want to go to Dusy Ershim.  Been wanting to do that trail for a long time.

I ended up trading my axial crawler for a warn 8000 winch.  It had a little rust and scratches and what not, so I decided to take it apart and clean it up.
I also put new grease and cleaned all the electrical connections.  Maybe im just a little ocd.  Anyways heres a few pics of it before and after.

I am also doing the 2nd gen alt swap.  Will be nice to have the extra amps since the stock alt is 43 amps and the 2nd gen is 60 amps.  Dont really need anymore then that.

Ive been so busy doing side work I havent had much time to work on either my ford or yota.  Almost done fixing a 87 ford f150 that had been sitting for 10 yrs.
Pretty much have gone thru all of it to get it running better.  Joy !!!
You can see there is tap still on the plastic cover.  I am gonna paint the W red before I get it installed on my truck.
Really want to make it so I can put this so I can swap it to flatbed when I need it.  For now its gonna be on my toy.

The winch looks good. I've been meaning to do this to mine. What paint did you use? Looks like it matches pretty well. Also, I was talking to one of the warn reps at KOH and he told me if you call warn's customer service line and ask for the correct replacement decal labels, they'll send em to you free of charge.

Thats good to know !! I wanted to replace all the decals.
The winch is installed and I put winch line on yesterday.  It dropped the front of my truck a good 2"s.
Its actually sitting perfect now.  Now I just need to figure out how to drop the rear that low.
I may just swap my rears to chevy 63"s.  I think they will lower it a few inches.
Ill get some pics up soon.  Been really busy lately.

rcbro

I have the same winch and asked for replacement decals. They did send me a set, but none of them fit this winch lol. I know they changed the 8000 slightly as I've installed a few. If you have better luck let me know.

What rears do you have now?

Marlin MCR4 springs.  This 1st gen is just too light.  They worked better when I had my longbed truck.

What are you replacing the e-locker with Josh?

Hey bud havent heard from you in a while.  Been busy ?  Truck doing good ?
I really havent decided what im gonna do.  Most likely I am just gonna get a v6 3rd and put 5.29's in it.  Then spool it since I am gonna run hydro assist.
Tough part is I am gonna have to remove the front housing and convert it back so a stock 3rd will fit.  Was gonna trade for another stock housing and then beef it up,
But I figured sine this one is already done I will just keep it.  I do plan on cutting off the diff guard and making my own that will conform like the marlin does but also make go around the bottom so it protects the drain plug better.  Dont want to loose another drain plug on the trail again.  I will sacrifice the 1/4" of clearance for it.  Should look pretty trick when I am done.
Since ive got my ford running great I really dont drive this truck much at all.  I think it will work out just fine.  I needed the money more then the e locker.
I did install twin sticks I got in trade for labor I did.  Figured why not.
The main thing that needs to be done is to correct the pinion angle on rear axle.
Then build a rear tube bumper.  Also need to barrow a porta power ram to push the drivers side B pillar out so door closes better.
I am really tempted to turn this rig into a green sticker rig.  Save me some money on insurance.  Just worried that ford will have a problem and I will be out a vehicle.

I decided to get some business cards made.  Not exactly what I wanted but without having photoshop on this computer I couldnt make it as custom as I wanted.
I think they look good enough. Heres a pic of it.
