I made a front bumper for my 82 Toy and had no place to put the turn signals that were on the original bumber. I was did like the idea of mounting some sort of turn sigal on the new bumper. I decided to do what I know some others have done by placing the turn signals in the headlight assembly. So here is some no brainer tech.

The white wire on the socket is ground. The other two blacks are hot. You only need to run one hot wire to the socket. Depending on which black wire you choose will dictate how bright you want your turn signals to be. I chose the one that had the brighter flash. You could also run the other wire to your running lights and use the bulb as a dual purpose set up.
The white/black wire from the Toyota harness is your ground the other color is hot. At least this is how it is on my 82.
