What ways could I do my rear shocks?
« on: Jul 17, 2009, 12:06:35 AM »
Don't know how to place rear shocks? Just did a SAS on a 91 toyota finishing the rear. But ran in to an other problem. Got an All pro 6" lift they gave me 12" shocks in the front and 14" in the rear is that correct? So I tried to mount the shocks on the stock studs and weld that other shock thing to the axle. But the shock is to long. I seen an other way on some guys truck in the forum. A bar going from frame to frame and shocks angling outwards. but don't know what is the right ways or the wrong ways to do to get good flex. Can anyone help? Thanks

Use the 12" shocks in the back

I have a tube that runs from frame to frame that my shocks mount to. I looked on marlin's online store and did not see it listed.  :dunno:
1990 4runner, 22re, R151, 4.7, 5.29s, E-locker front, Lock-Rite rear, 37" MTRs, 51" rears all around

I can see my house from here. Wait is that nm

I have mine mounted very similar to that cept I used stock cross bar to mount to and I made shock mounts that went to front of axle since I am running 16" front and 14" rear so I needed all the length I could get.
I plan I flexing it tomorrow to see how it does and ill post a pic.
Heres a pic of my setup. tho the 1st one is before I made new mounts you can get the point on location. Plus I havent had time to make new upper mounts. For street driving it works fine.
Second pic is the mounts I made and location.
