checking in from hollister
« on: Jul 05, 2009, 01:59:16 AM »
hey, Whats up?  Thanks for bothering to read the noob posts.  Ive been a member of AZTTORA for a while now and recently moved back to Hollister, CA where my family lives.  The NorCalTTORA board is kinda slow compared.  This seems like a really good place to ask questions related to my 84' pickup so I joined.  Im typing this to work towards my 12th post so I can bee set free.  I have a well loved 84' single cab short bed 4x4.  The engine was junk when I got it so I found a complete 22re on craigslist and made it happen.  Replaced the wire harness bumper to bumper and made it all work.  The engine came with everything as its previous owner did a 3rz swap with a doner truck.  It also has a LCE cam and runs very strong.  I installed 63" chevy springs in the rear with custom mounts and fancy angle iron shackles. Then stuck the rears up front and did the crossover steering.  Recycled(chopped off a truck being parted out) a drop front spring hanger to relocate the front springs and used sky's shackles.  Recycled some rock sliders also. Installed a fancy little ez-locker up front and bought a welded v-6 diff for the rear.  Im running 35" tires now and need gears bad like.  still have 4:10's.  I think Im going to do the t-case gears first and then the diffs. saving my pennies as I find them.   heres a pic, when I had 33's

The NorCalTTORA board is kinda slow compared.

I think NorCal TTORA folded up a couple of years ago.  If I remember correctly, no one wanted to lead the program fter the last president stepped down.

thats a bummer.  The AZttora program was a busy place.  Lots of people, always something new.  The only lifted toyota I see in hollister besides mine has a for sale sign on it and hasnt moved.  Am I the only one in town with a drivable yota?  I regularly saw wheelin yotas in AZ
