Hello!  I'm building an 85 runner (my first! so I'm excited about it).  It was bone stock when I got it with 182K miles.  I've got the 6" lift pretty much done, 4" springs, 2" shackles.  I've got a set of  35" Goodyear MTRs.  Next will be the 5.29s and rear ARB.  Can't wait to hit the trails!!!

WHITE_TRASH

Gears are no problem, Im using 3.90's and 38" tsl's.  Its a bit sluggish on the bottom but it hauls ass.

Is it EFI?

Oh yeah! EFI, and seems to run pretty good.  I just bought it a few months ago, so I haven't driven it much.

Actually all '85+ 4Runners were EFI. 1984 was the only carburated 4Runner ever made.

I wasn't too crazy about the stripe when I got the truck, but it has started to grow on me.  Beside, I think trying to remove it after 19 years would be a bad idea.  I'm starting to like the retro look of it :)

Post a good side pic, I need some inspiration

gturismo

Hey Shamb, I am in Fresno....where are you?

About the EFI, Fireimp, I was under the impression that all 85's were EFI, but I don't know that for sure.  Are you planning a SAS sometime in the future?  I thought about that but I've heard it can be pricey and besides, my fab skills are very, very limited, so I wanted a rig that came with a solid axle.  I was very lucky to find a clean one.

Looks like my first run will end up being in the snow.  I will post pics

You're in Fresburg? As am I. Tim, Dave, Rocky, and a couple other will be hitting the snow often this season, so once we do I'll let ya know.

It probabely wont be until mid or late Nov. until everyone is ready..
