Vista/MS Word help
« on: Jun 26, 2009, 07:50:45 PM »
Hi ya'll.

So my new laptop has MS Vista on it  :ack:

Anyway... when I create a document in MS Word 2007, I can modify it a couple of times, then it is locked, and I get a message that says

"This modification is not allowed because the selection is locked".

Well, HOW do I UNLOCK it? I haven't locked anything or adjusted anything.... Help!

TIA

Your computer locks? or just Word?

I found out it was because my MS Office trial expired. I bought the display computer, so I got no paperwork or extra discs or anything. I simply went on the site and got a new trial and now I'm good through August 31.

Thank you. I do have OpenOffice, but I'm not very fond of it. I am having a hard enough time dealing with Vista. Plus, the university requires .doc or .docx only in a MS Word format :headscratch: Plus, they require PowerPoints a lot and I have to use that at least once a week.

Not if you have to buy the MS office now :gap:

I think I can find my old MS office disks, if you want them.  I'm running 2003 MS office on vista, in "compatibility mode"   Works great.  :gap:
