Start of a Project
« on: Oct 18, 2004, 10:05:45 PM »
Picked up my first Toyota from the Junk Yard today. 1986 4 Runner for $650

Parked in the garage and am going to start by stripping it down, and cutting out all
the stock suspention. Looking for parts, cheep or trade, I have a 1987 Chevy Blazer
I will be pulling the engine, & trans out of. Anybody need anything from it?

Here is a picture of what I have to start with.

Try to find a top, bob the back up to the rear hangers, stick the 4.3 with the automatic,
and listen really closly to my friends that work at Marlins.
By the way, I live in Kingsburg California, a little town just south of Fresno.

I had a great experience today, I had my first trip to Marlins shop today. There was a truck
undergoing surgery, with a 4.3. Looks like something I can do. I didnt get to meet Marlin, he
looked busy, but hope to meet him soon. Heard he was a nice guy.

Have I met you yet? I am Marlin's son - I was at the shop from 11-11:30a and from 2-2:30p today. I will be there all day tomorrow so we might bump into each other-

You take care of the site dont you? Are you a computer tech, or something?

I am, a computer nerd that is.

Have a question, Why dont you guys have a DVD or video you guys sell, to show the people what
you do, not just the building, but also the crawling, maybe some training for beginners, how to
creap around certain rocks, what to look for when on the trail. Id buy it. I didnt understand what
the big deal was until I experienced it myself. Anyway, just some blah blah blah
