Topic: 1987 4runner build up

im in the process of starting on my 87 4runner. it got the 4 banger 22re in there now but i really want to swap for a toyota diesel 2.4 liter turbo. i found one that comes with the trans and everything else i need. my four runner is currently a automatic but i have already got the clutch petals and everything to do the swap. i plan on doing sas trail gear lift with 5" springs. i want to get rid of the roll bar and build a full cage from front to back. i picked up a solid axle out of a 85 truck that had caught fire for a real good deal and in the process of cleaning and thinking of doing the chromoly upgrade. i have a long way to go but want to get started on the right foot any in put would be helpful thanks..

hell yeah sounds like you got some decent plans for it what size tires you guna run? and  ill be watchin this build let me know if you any questions or anything along the way

good plans but why not go with the Marlin kit for the lift  or rears up front and 63's in the rear  Marlin has some nice axle options too, and 4Xinovations  makes a real nice cage for the runner that is a decent price

I will definately look in to the marlin opinion for the lift but I plan on definatly going with there axle upgrade

its the quality that counts and Marlin has QUALITY if yer gonna do alot of rock crawlin then think about rears up fromt and 63's or something like them for max flex good luck
