They used to have homelink buttons in the visors when they first came out.  That's where I got my buttons from.  They have a bezel and a foil looking antenna and with a power and ground wire - really easy to hook up.

Yeah mine came from a visor but im not about to try cutting the foam and recovering a visor. The ones i had done for my corrado looked funny so this one i will just deal with and put the home link in the headliner or something.

Homelink is something lexus started puting in their cars in the late 90's.  It had a few programable buttons that would learn the code of garage door openers or gate openers for those who live in gated communities.  Then you don't need your garage door remote floating around in your car anymore.

My GF has a girls place is gated and i hate the codes so i may have to try it. Cant wait for the garage door openers tho, I have 2 at the shop and one at my house and 2 for my dads house.

Hey Russell, I just saw you lived in Longmont.  I stayed with a freind up there who used to work for Spidertrax.

I live in San Diego now, but I'm looking to move to Colorado Springs.  I might go to work for Armorology if all works out.....Still need to sell the condo....

Hope to see you on the trails out there someday.

Thats a good idea for your rig. My buddy has been telling me about Valspar tractor enamel. I guess if you spray it on with the hardener and wait about 4 days you cant chip it with a hammer. im going to do my bumpers in it.

ICE CREAM PAINT JOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok long night and i didnt get the whole thing shot due to the seam sealer on the bed not being dry enough to clean up on one section of the bed. I can knock it out in about 20 minutes tomorrow....I left it in front of the heater so im sure it will be dry.

My painting team.(yes i was high on paint fumes when i took this)

Close up of the finish...The outside will be able to buffed so it should look better.

More coming soon.

I have been meaning to ask an opinion.

I have the Carbon TRD badges from the supercharged sticker pack. I wont use the supercharged ones but what do you guys think about the tiny one under the toyota logo on the B piller? My other thought is to do the TRD logo on the bed to brake it up a bit. White paint, Chrome trim, Polished wheels and mild Armor in black is pretty simple and on that bobbed section it might show it off a little. Id use OEM stickers in either red, black and white or the gray, black ones. I dont know if its Ricey when all i will have is TRD wires,Fluid caps, Locker....its a 4cylinder tacoma almost lol

Im high gotta get off the interwebzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I'd leave all that trd sticker stuff off.  You don't want the theives to know what you've built.

That paint should look real good once it's color sanded and buffed out.  I haven't had any experience with basecoat/clearcoat paintjobs other than detailing so I don't know if you have to "cut the paint" as my painter friends would say.  I know they did that on my single stage urathane paint jobs.  FYI, Ditzler makes a very durable urathane paint.  My friend shot my old '88 with that stuff + a little extra hardener in his garage after I helped him prep it - and it took a beating.  The only thing that didn't buff out was where my dad dragged a peice of chainlink fence up the side of the bed  :slap: and I don't think any paint would have held up to that.

The base clear will sand easy and just like buffing its cutting the top layer to get to a smooth and flat surface. Im not too worried about theives in my area. They seem to be only in to hondas. I also have a clifford alarm with sensitive sensors and proximity. Plus right now i work out of the shop or will have the truck in view 99% of the time.
