I created a "Friends of Marlin Crawler" group on Facebook so we can all find each other on there more easily:

RokCrawlinToy also created an event page for MCR8. A link to that can be found on the group page above.

BigMike, if you see any issues with this please let me know. If anyone has any suggestions, also let me know. Obviously we have the forum here for doing most things, so this group page is really just a place for us to find each other on FB.

I've got friends that are trying to get me to join Facebook, Twitter and a shitload of other sites. I barely get time to check out Marlin on a daily basis, let alone "other" sites.

I flatly refuse to "twitter" I think that is the dumbest thing ever. I really don't do much on Facebook, and I'm sooooo over myspace at this point. haha.

Someone please, explain to me this twitter crap? I hear about it some times at work on the radio, even my 65year parents asked me if I "twittered" WTF is it!?

That's too funny that your parents want to know if you twitter. From what I understand it's yet another "social networking" type of site but all you can do is make quick little "shouts" at people? Basically all you do is make updates to your "status" or something. So you can be like "Oh hey I'm taking a crap right now." And just constantly update what you're doing or whatever is on your mind. I don't get the point of it at all.

According to the Twitter website itself...... "Twitter is a service for friends, family, and co–workers to communicate and stay connected through the exchange of quick, frequent answers to one simple question: What are you doing?"

I hear it's better than MySpace and Facebook - however I haven't visited and I don't plan to. Whatever... I have enough to keep up with between the boards, MySpace and Facebook

Twitter has become popular because the owners of it have persuaded celeberties to use to talk about the stupid crap they do all day long. The part of the public that worships these celeberties(mostly women) love to become social "friends" with them and see what they are doing throughout the day. Its stupid of you ask me.

I never did the myspace thing but I made a facebook account a few months ago, well about 4 years ago but I didn;t even know it. I signed up for it at a computer training boot camp when it was still a beta test version of the site. I didn't think it was live at the time. I kept gettin emails from names I didn't know as a "friend request" on FB. I though it was spam until I finally recognized one of the names. I used the username/password I usually use and low and behold, it worked. the only thing is I keep getting reiend requests from people I went to high school with. I'm like. I didn't care baout talking to you in the 18 previous years since I graduated why would I care to talk to you now.

SO, to sum it up... Twitter = stupid crap

speaking of twitter, my boss keeps askin me if i twitter. i asked him WTF twitter was, he said he wasnt sure, but that he thought kids did it and people were asking him. i just laughed at him.
