3 inch lift driveshaft length

i put 3 inch spring under front of a 82 yota will i need to extend my fronf drive shaft

No, you will be fine with only 3 inches.

ok heres why i ask i put dual casses in and used a ifs front drive shaft that was little over five inches longer the so the cases moved back six so im already one inch short dont know how much shaft travel i still need

Oh well that makes things a little different then, you may have issues if you've already stretched out the ds beyond the stock length. Normally I've gotten away with up to 5" of lift without issue but that's in completely stock configuration.

go flex it out on something and see if it pulls apart
Dr.Maxwe001 – well i have a 15 gal compressor now and if I gett he 60  and then use the 15 as a reserve that wil give me 75 gal  thats close to 80 isnt it ?

No one is going to know how much travel you need. Too many variables come into play. As a rule of thumb you set the driveshafts up so you have 1/3 of the shaft exposed for compression and the other 2/3 for extension.

like said above to many variables. My knowledge is if your making a square tube run the big tube on the top at 12 and the bottom at fifteen works for just about any rig any lift any travel. With that said since you have duals it should be 7 inches further back then stock so make the top piece 19 and the bottom 22 and it should work but measure before cutting I wouldnt want you to cut it out and have it stuff up into your t case.
