Topic: Mounting locations for second battery on 1st gen 4Runner

Finally getting around to adding a second battery. Wondering where others are mounting them. Thought about betwen the frame rails in the back, but concerned about "shorting out" the battery if I have a deep water crossing. Don't really want it inside the truck either. Engine compartment seems pretty stuffed already. I'd love to see some pictures and thoughts on why you like or dislike the way it's set up. I appreciate any input folks have.

ive got both of mine in the tool box in my bed.  are u using drycells?  big mike has his under the bed, and they havent shorted out yet, they are d/c

Some have moved the AFM to beside the main battery.  And put the second battery in the old AFM location.

But if you pick up a dry cell battery, you could get a metal battery box, and mount it up along the frame rail, under the body.  You could even mount a dry cell inside the cab, since they are sealed.
