Where to wheel in Redding? ( nate help!)
« on: Mar 28, 2009, 10:04:05 PM »
I supose this is the correct place to post.

So i have a bunch of family up in shasta/redding and im kind of figuring a trip this spring/summer  and i want to take my rig with me and do a little wheeling. all i know of is the chappie trail system as i used to ride quads there but there wasnt much for a truck.  Is there any decent spots? im not talking hardcore rubicon/fordyce or anything but just places to go richard around.

A big problem around here is, if there's a trail, there's probably a locked gate now.  Forest service figures it's easier to block our access than make their people do any real work.  That frees up more money for them to run big *explorations* on moving hiking trails 50 feet over so it doesn't go through a mountain meadow, even if it's gone through that meadow for 100 or more years  :shake:

Hopefully Toyoder or somebody else local who wheels will throw out some ideas!

Cool, let me know if you find any good spots up there, I hunt a fair amount out around hayfork, lots of pigeons hang out up there  ;)
