Places to wheel in Redding, Ca?
« on: Nov 18, 2005, 11:53:28 PM »
Post up, if I'm gonna be puttin bigger tires, lower gears and other goodies on the truck I wanna know where some local wheelin places are.  I wanna start semi easy to get a good feel for my setup and move up from there.  Not looking for anything too hairy, just a decent test of my truck.

Isn't there an OHV area on the other side of Shasta dam? That would probably be a good place.
I would also check with the local 4wd shop, they could probably give you some good hints.

Dude, have you ever tried to talk to the jokers in Redding 4wd?  Heads straight up their butts, bolt on shop is all I've seen.  They might have a nice guy here or there, but most my experiences with them leaves me shakin my head thinkin "pompous jerks".  Yea, there's an ohv park on the other side of the dam, but ever since 9-11 you either hafta drive way out of your way or get a pass from the government to cross, but you can't have a gun with you.....that's not how I roll!  At the very least I like to keep a shotgun with me.  I've been over there on my dirt bike before but didn't like the area too much.  My friend has an axle shop in town, I'm gonna try and run down there tomorrow and gab with him for a while, maybe pick his brain a little.  Thanks though fireball.

they got a area in hayfork i know.... you might want to check with the rangers, i know a saw a place on this map i have,
If you stop by a state OHVA and ask for a state reacreational area map they'll give you a map that shows you all the fourwheeling places in California.... good luck
