I've always wanted one of these...now I have one!

Not really earth shattering, but, it is handy!

I think if you made it full length, you could use it for a powder coat cover and just swing it into the booth.  That brings up another question, will PC hold up on a block ?

pumkin toy

PC should hold up on a block. it is baked on at 400 degrees and it takes 1000 degrees to turn it back to powder.

I think his tool is very nice    a 22 block is light enoff that you don't need a tool    unless your are moving a lot of them all the time / shop  .

If I where you i would try to patent it  or maybe make a few  and do a e-bay/ forum sell area area   and see how it dose.

" some poeple  like :attention: I need one  or have use for it make me one"

Then when it's time  and you got 30 on the self

uhh last time I looked the carb on a Yoti engine wasnt in the center like a V8 so pulling the block out of a frame would be a little awkward no?

abnormaltoy

The main thing to me is, I just don't like using straps to lift engines. Granted it's overkill, but, I've got an hour into it and it's made from scrap.

I'll make another to lift long blocks someday. I just like maikng stuff.

yes, but most people i know install a complete engine into a vehicle..... how many people just use the cherry picker to pick up the block only?
i know that i just lift the block...... the assembled toy engine has those 2 hooks for lifting up the whole thing.... and its capable of doing it, i just pulled everything out of my truck using them, intake & exhaust attached and everything

I know of one  .

It's soo much easier, to install (or pull) a short block and then build it out than vice versa...at least for me.

It's not  like I came up with a new alphabet or something...these have been around since, well...for a long time. I just adapted the idea to my needs.

Anybody with an imagination, a few tools and some scrap can build a lot of what they want.

do the outer bolt holes line up with the valve cover studs by any chance?

I don't know, my head is wrapped up on a shelf. Those bolts would be perfect for lifting a long block...they're bigger than the bolts used to pick up V8 motors.
