Yup, I bought a standard cab window on accident for my xcab. The xcab window is much taller
Bobbed 84 xtra cab, pickin up parts as I go.

If at first you do not succeed, put it in 4low and try again.

It's kinda weird that it's so much bigger than the std cab window (same width and shape just about 3 inches taller) and I like having the bigger window. I found out the same way after trying a std cab window in my Xtra-cab.  :smack:

The only reason I can see, as to why the std cab window is shorter, is because of where the head rests on the seats would hit if they're reclined. If the std cab had the larger window the seats would hit the window. Not good if the seat back latching mechanism should break if you ever got rear ended.

On the other hand, you kinda wonder why they didn't just use the smaller window on the Xtra-cab. Maybe it just didn't look good.  :dunno: kinda  :screwy: if you ask me.

The height on the rear of the cab is different too.  The extra cabs are a little taller because of that rear window.  If you go to buy a new shell for one, they will ask you if it is going on a extra cab on a single cab - so the top of the shell will line up with the top of your truck.

The back of the X-cabs slope differently than std cabs as well, about 2.5" difference.  You can put a std. cab shell on an X-cab, but not the other way around.
