please help im losing my mind i want to burn my truck

 :mad:   OK hears the problem i have a really dumb problem that i cant seem too figure out with the efi.  it seems to run really strong at cold start up but as soon as it gets warm it acts up like it wont rev past 4000 rpms after that it bogs an shuts down to about 2500 then revs back to 4000 and does the same thing.

what i have done so far

1  changed afm
2  changed gas filter
3  changed spark plugs
4  re did the timing
5  changed the tps an throttle  body

try to read the codes.  all u need is a paper clip.    Check to see if your exhaust manifolds or Catalytic converter is getting excessively hot - like glowing orange.  may be easier to see this in the dark.  Could be clogged exhaust.

Are you disconnecting the vacuum advance when you check the timing?
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE
AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE.

IF YOU CAN'T FIX IT WITH A HAMMER, YOU HAVE AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM.

Was any work done to this thing recently (engine, electrical, battery replacement, etc...) or did this start all of a sudden?  What about fuel pressure? Fuel pressure is a must to check in a case like this. Do not overlook this.

Be sure to start with the basic stuff first.  :thumbs:  How long since it was tuned up?  :dunno: Was the TPS adjusted using the correct procedure when it was replaced or was it just bolted on? (another important thing not to miss)

Battery connections can cause strange problems or missing/broken ground wires on the engine will wreak havoc too. All good stuff to check before throwing anymore money at it.  :thumbs:

So, it runs fine when it's cold, but starts to act up when it's warm. Makes me wonder if there is a cracked head, leaking head gasket or something that seals as it cools, but opens up when it warms up. Kinda doubt it's in the wiring to the EFI, because an intermittent short would happen any time, although a loose connection may only show up when it's warm. Could also be a sticky valve, that as it expands gets stuck and won't work.

Just a few thoughts.

im  not to good qith stuff like this put maybe the coil. did u change the wires and cap?? idk just throwing ideas out. i did have a similair problem tho. but it was my tps sensor.

ok what i did today  new plugs wires, cap, an also when i unplug the tps nothing happens it just revs the same an i am running a rci fuel cell with a msd efi fuel pump. 

it is a re-built motor starts up great do you think it would have something to do with the cam its for a 22r not re   :headscratch:

Changed TPS and throttle body? Did you adjust the TPS after the latest round of additions/ modifications  :confused:
Wow, been looking at my 4Runner rust away too long, need some inspiration and here I will find it...!

Is it throwing any codes?

When warm will the rpms get past 4k when the truck is sitting still, when riving, or neither?

the f-ing  thing :tantrum: is really getting to me!!!!!!!!!!


other things i did today  went through the trouble of taking out the efi harness an changed it with another one off a running truck an did good again at start up it was at 1100 rpm an i thought it would drop as it got warm it did but then it drop so low the f-ing truck died an wouldn't start again.... :maddest: 

 i haven't done the codes yet.

i narrowed it down to injectors or intake
