I took a few pics with my phone tonight.  I dont really have enough room in the garage to back up and take a good pic.  I narrowed the front six inches on each side.  Basically cut out the hole in the inner structure where the headlight goes and sectioned it back together.  I also cut five inches out of the bumper hoops on each side and tacked them back on.  I swooped them back a bit closer to the grill than before and it looks really gnarly.  I also took a couple pics of the drilled and tapped steering box that I got for 50 bucks.

Few more.........     where I have the tires sitting is real close to what the actual stance will be when I put the 80 series axles under it.  the new setup will be five inches wider than the mini axles were. I'm also lowering the ride height one inch and moving the front axle forward probly two more inches.

Are you just running a Taurus fan in reverse? I have a 4.3L in my truck and it starts to get a little hot when crawling, but it runs fine at faster speeds.

Is it keeping your 7mgte cool on the trail? What outdoor temps have you ran trails at? Some trails get 100+ around here in the summer.

I didnt take any pics of it in progress,  I just started doing it and whipped it out in about three hours, 9excluding time to move all the wiring harnesses and junk out of the way)

So I got my clutch today and its the wrong one. I dont know for sure which clutch I need to order for this swap. After seeing the clutch that came for the 7mgte application, I'm thinking that maybe I just need a clutch for a 22ret.

I have a 22re but if you think you need one for a 22ret i'm sure i don't! My clutch is not really that good but you could compare to wat you have and wat you got and all that. But again if you mean 22ret i don't have that one! Also that sucks its wrong really cause i know your wantin to get the tranny and cases back in der!! Well good luck and give a shout if yo need any thing man.

you need the clutch from the 7mge (non turbo) 86-89 supra. cause the 22r series are too small an the 7mgte is oviously from a different world compared to what were use to seeing.

yeah i'm thinkin thats the clutch I need. The 22r and 22re clutch disks have an 8 7/8" diameter and the 22ret clutch disk has a 9 1/4" diameter. I found out that a guy I know has a 7mge clutch at his house and i'm going to compare my clutch to it on monday.  I found out that the dimensions of the 22ret clutch disk are the same as the 7mge, so that clutch could potentially work too, but idk if it will match the supra flywheel.

i love the dovetail front end by the way. it reminds me exactly of my truck, i think everyone should dovetail there truck, ha. it makes it look alot wider too
thanks dude, i'm really liking how its turning out too!

Yeah I think it will, but something convinced me to order a turbo clutch instead, that was a bad choice!

idk if the 22ret clutch will work... the pressure plate might bolt up differently to the 7mgte. i dont actually know for sure. but the 90-92 7mge clutch works also.

where do you live? im curious as to what your truck is like compared to mine an was seeing if we could compare. i got links front an rear an full widths. but same motor an tranny an THE DOVETAILED FRONT! ha
