got any plans for engine cage?

Since you bobbed it and cant run the tailgate with the glass in it.. so do you have any ideas of keeping you out of the elements? i know its a wheeler, but say for insentience when you want to go winter wheeling.. You just gonna throw on the bobbed top

or were you planning on using a reg tailgate and putting the camper shell glass on the runner top?

I wont be running a tailgate.  Once I mount the 40" spare back there, the tailgate wont even fit!  The plan is to build some sort of tube/sheetmetal tailgate that will aslo act as the tire carrier.  Then I am going to get a small canvas top made that will snap onto the remaining fiberglass top and connect to the tailgate.

Yes actually I do.  I am going to cut holes in the inner structure and run a tube connecting the fender tubes to the shock towers. Then I will put in a tube up over the engine that will bolt onto the shock towers.  Wont really be a cage I guess, but it will be some extra support and protection up over the engine.

I'm sure I will manage to piss her off somehow, seems like it doesnt take much.   havnt made any huge progress on anything lately. got the cage painted, finished rear bump stops, got the spare tire carrier done.  Been too busy getting ready for the classic to take and post pics!  I will get some after the event.

Thanks, I am running an all-pro "extended length" 4" main leaf with waggoneer leaves in the front and Alcan springs in the rear.  I'm not sure how much lift the alcan's offer, but they have about ten leaves in each pack and still ride and flex excellent!

ya i got to ride in the 4 runner for half the day saturday, the turbo'd 6 popper is awesome! coolest thing was hearing the blow out valve come from a yoter rollin on 4 DEEEEEEE'z lol

Havnt updated in a while, I havnt really done a whole lot of work to it lately.  Got the spare tire mount done.  I bent some tubes to go from the rear frame section up over the fuel tank and connect to the rear shock hoop.  The tire mounts to those tubes and it seems to be workin out well so far!  here are a few pics

thanks man, I'm trying to stay busy on it without spending money.... kinda hard to do!  I'm stoked that everything is holding up great.

Yes sir, 27 spline longfield birfs on stock inner shafts.  And I've been wheelin it pretty hard for a couple months now.

How does your Runner ride with the lift, and 40's? We picked up a 2000 Runner yesterday for my girlfriend, and I'm already loving it more than my Tacoma. It only has 86,000 miles which is 20,000 miles less than my 2003 Taco.
