I'm located in Hawaii and I'm in the process of doing this same exact swap into my 91 4runner that has a straight axle swap.  What problems did you have if any while doing this swap?  I was going to go the same route with the auto trans A340f and transfercase RF1A.

just curious..
what did you pay for the 3.4? what year is it and how many miles did it have on it at the time?
Did you buy just the motor/harnes/brain etc. or did you get a whole wrecked truck?

No thanks on the S2K.  My '92 Si get's me to work just fine  ;)

The motor is a 97', I think it had around 60K on it when I put it in, and I bought all the swap seperate.

It's sitting in the front driveway if someone still want's to buy it.  Now that I have a house, I have zerro time to work on it.  I'll trade for a truck of equal value too.

what does it get for gas mileage?  everything with the swap works perfect right?  no check engine lights, runs fine?   i might be interested for my girlfriend since it is an automatic.

It get's about 16-18 mpg, depending on how you drive.  It has a rear O2 heater code that goes on and off every once and a while, I havn't tried to diagnose that.  It runs fine though.  It also has a rear anti-lock light on too, I havn't tried to diag that either.

Hey bump guys!

Id say its worth more than 3500!
I just did the 3.4 swap on mine too, haven't reffed it yet since i don't have to until december 2010
But for the ammount of labor involved/newer motor/some suspension mods..

Id say $5000 would definitly happen if you found the right buyer.

Good luck with your ventures.

(im wanting to trade mine for an equally built truck too)

i would really be interested in the 4runner but i just dont know if i want to spend that much on gas.  i am used to a car that gets 30 mpg, so i would be nearly doubling my gas bill! :yikes:

The 3.4 is a very nice motor.  Makes the rigs fun to drive again..

Has some nice power for a v6 and its a very nice swap to complete.

Rupreckt86

I like the 3.4 too.
My 4Runner will basically be for sale until I SA it.  Once I finish remodeling my house I can get back to it and a SAS is the next step.

I took the 4Runner out yesterday, it drives good!  It's still for sale though.  I'll take offers.

BUMP for your sale man..

The 3.4L 4runners are nice..
Im sure someone will want it.

Rupreckt86

Thanks man.  I like yours too, I was just reading your build the other day.  I wish I had time to SA mine.  I picked up a little 90' reg cab that I'm going to build instead.

I think thats the way to go...

I wish i had a truck instead of a 4runner..

It will never smog with exhaust configured like that.

HAS to run stock crossover and exhaust down the PASSENGER side. Referees are well aware of this swap and know exactly how to look for everything. Trust me I have done my research and talk to countless refs and even the top guy in Sacramento.
