1985 4runner body swap.
« on: Sep 05, 2004, 06:58:38 PM »
I just bought an 89 4runner and want to install it on an 1985 4runner chassis. Other then the typical disconnection and removal of the engine wiring harness etc. Anything else I should be aware of..

The 1985 chassis has been Line-X'ed inside and out.

I also plan on removing the gas tank, brackets and hardware. Then  installing the second gas tank. This time on the left side. I will enjoin to two via the drain plug on the underside of the tanks.

Anythought on any of this..

There have been a couple of posts on 4x4wire.com where people have said it's a "piece of cake". Bolts right up. I haven't done it myself, but I want do exactly what you are describing.
