looks decent how much you pick it up for

Rust doesn't look to be to bad, you must be in the rust belt like me.

im gonna guess its an 84, and your 81 looks clean, why not beat the crap outta this one and keep the first gen all spiffey

Mavericks

I think the wheel base on the long bed would be nice for wheeling.  It looks like a nice and solid truck  where abouts are you?

are you in south western CO or just western...

my 81 needs a lot of body work and is only a 4 speed so it would be better for wheeling and the 84/85 has a straight body with minor rust...and in my opinion the 1st gen trucks look way better beefed up than a 2nd gen and I like the long bed for camping and hauling things

damn straight the first looks better then a 2nd gen 1st gens rule dont get me wrong i love 2nd gens but yeah

4x4yota

I love them both but I have seen plenty of stock 1st gens around me and I have to say some lift looks bad @$$ so Im gonna do the 3" on my 81 and stock on my "84" but that doesnt mean I wont add some goodies to the "84"

ok so Im having some charging issues just want to run this buy for a second opinion... ok so I can start my truck and it runs and drives but it is charging a lil high and when I accelerate it charges higher and goes back down when I let off I have checked fuses, links, relays and even swapped out the regulator but still has the same problem... so I am thinking alternator! or what else could it be before I go into pulling the alternator to have it tested/swapped?
