if you are going to be in north Fresno with family(little ones?) Claim Jumper may not be a bad idea.  My wife and went there a few weeks ago and our waitress gave a free plate for our daughter(18 months).  We were both a little surprised with it but it was one less plate to pay for.

I will 2nd that both of those places are better than Claim Jumper.  The only positive i had there was a free plate of food.  Famous Daves is delicious, and i would say Loagans is a good runner up.  Famous Daves if you want BBQ.

There is a Sal's or Bobby Salazars (same family) just a couple blocks north of Chilis on Fresno street. The NE corner of Fresno and Aluvial if I'm not mistaken.
