:headscratch: That's what it says, or am I missing something?

He's talking about the comma after punctuation, whether or not it should be there or not.

Are spelling, punctuation, and grammar dead?

vs.

Are spelling, punctuation and grammar dead?

Gotchya, and yes, the comma should be after "punctuation"

This thread should be renamed to the Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar correction thread. Then anyone that is wondering if they are constructing a sentence correctly can post it here first and then ask the might guru if it is OK for posting.

It is funny how many times I post something and then re-read my post an realize the errors I've made, then I have to edit my post. I just can't leave it that way, sometimes I even use the same word twice and have to take one out.

Your is the possessive form of you.

You're is a contraction of "you are". You're should be used any time you might otherwise use the words...you are.

So...you're not using the correct to explain your situation.

At the risk of being the next example, I'll point out where your mistake above is.

"You're should be used any time you might otherwise use the words...you are."

You didn't distinguish the word "You're" in any way so it reads, "You are should..."

A huge part of the problem is the line between spoken and written English is getting blurred.  Because of this, written English is being influenced by texting, Ebonics ( :psss: spell check even insists that this word be capitalized which goes against the whole idea of Ebonics  :screwy:) and other slang forms of speech.

:yesnod:  I've even done that when I've read through a topic, and seen a post that I made several months ago :smack:  I hate going back and seeing the stupid errors that I've made.

Just stop being stupid, and I think that will work itself out in time. :haha:
