I checked out the install kit, very nice, but I am a poor S.O.B.. In one of the links above it says that you can use CJ hangers for the front. Does anyone know what year?

Ok, so I finally got a couple days off and I am installing the 63's. With the double shackle set up can I let the stock shackle lay flat without welding it to the frame or does it need to be welded?

put a bumpstop on there, where the shackle hits.  It would defeat the purpose of a double shackle to weld the stock shackle to the frame.

true, but if you don't want the instability of having the double shackle unload on you and you are strapped for money, I could see it being more cost effective to just install the double shackle and weld the stock one to the frame.

So my wifes van decided to take a dump on her and I haven't finished the 4runner yet. I have the leaf springs in, but I have not welded the stock rear hanger to the frame. It is laying flat against the frame bolted in, just not welded. The delema I have is my welder also took a dump and I am waitng for a part to come in. Would it be ok to drive my 40 mile round trip to work on the flat highway with out the hanger being welded?

The double shackle or the rear spring front mount?

I thought you were talking about the front hanger (next to the fuel tank) for the rear spring. As long as that welded your good to go.

The double shackle on my 87 4Runner isn't welded & it's a daily driver.

So I drove it to work and back lastnight, and the rear end is still under it where it belongs :P. There is some vibrations now from the back that weren't there before. Is this common?

The vibration you are feeling is most likely your pinion angle. Now that I think about it your rear axle might not be perpendicular to the frame. One tire might be a tiny bity further forward than the other causing the pinion to be off center.
