You can make it with no problems.  They did a lot of improvements to the road, but there is still one pretty good washboard section just before the lakebed.  You'll just have to go slow there.

I HOPE that my F-Toy is ready for a Hammers Trip by January.  We'll see.

I run my 35' mh out there no problem, like just about everyone else. I don't think you'll have much trouble finding people that's mid season out there. I'll start working my club to go there then, though we tend to camp at the quieter Soggy Dry lake bed instead of Means. Doesn't mean we don't go there depending on what trails we are going to run.

That's the only thing I miss when I was 30 min. away from Boone Rd., still I only move 40 min. away so it's just about an hour away.

sweet thats kinda what I was thinking I talked to a few other people who have been there and they said I should not have any problems....I dont really care where we camp as long as it has room for my MH and that would be cool if we could get a big group of people out there for some good trail runs...

The only issue you might have with a trip in January is we do have the odd cold storm that might pass through. It snowed at Cougar Buttes for a Pro Rock comp and the All Pro run in January 06 the low on the lakebed was 12 degrees. Not a big deal, but just prepare for it just in case.

ya for sure man.... I always prepare for cold when I head to southern cali in Jan since I have to cross the Siskiyou pass on my way down.... luckily for me I will be staying in my motorhome.... you goin too?

We will probably be out there most weekends before the race in February. Most if not all of the RVs on the lakebed in the 12 degree weather had frozen plumbing in the morning. It was definitely cold. 

Check with Infernal to see if All Pro is going to return to the Hammers in 09 for another group run (it is usually in early January).  8)

ya Infernal will be out there the weekend I am and he has not said anything about the all pro run so im not sure??? I know they did it near those dates a couple years ago
