question for the guys in Hawaii do you guys air your tires down at all or what kind of pressures do you run when playing in the sand? The tires do not look very squatty like they are aired down atleast the ones that were in the sand. I think they are compensating with the wide wheels instead of airing down the tire for the widest footprint of the tire for the flotation in the sand. In oregon when we play in the sand you usually air down to 5-10 psi in your tires to get the wide foot print just like running in the snow. But widest wheels I have are 10" wide. I get the wide wheels probably save them from airing up and down all the time, so they can drive off the sand and go wherever they want to unlike me where I drive to the nearest gas station that has free air. Just my random thought.  Could be different sand also. I personally have never been to Hawaii.  Like the trucks and the shiny Weld wheels and the :bling: :bling:

i just wonder how some of them get the tires to take air and seat on the bead????  a case of starting fluid maybe

ya starting fluid or Bead Cheetahs. They are those like 5 gallon portable air tanks that have a duckbill nozzle coming out the side and a have a ball valve for high flow. Thats what they use to mount semi tires with the stiff sidewalls.

I leave for Hawaii in a few days now...Cant wait to see the Toyota's my dad was talking about. He said they were all over and i love the old 80's and 90's show trucks... My dads buddy has been tryin to sell his local and getting falmed everytime he posts it. Needs smaller tires for out there but its a good base for a builder.

Chromed out and he said last count was 48 chrome shocks and has 2 boxes of them in the garage for it. Chromed out gastank and skid, Xmember, trac bars, all kinds of stuff.

Sorry for diggin up an old thread i found it searching for pics to show my buddy.

Oooh , that's an awesome Toy Russell_G . . . Sucks your buddy keeps getting flamed  :shake: . Funny thing is the people who are doing the flaming are probably young kids who haven't been around long and have the mentality that if your rig isn't beat to :pokinit: , it's not a real wheeler . I've had to clean this thread a couple of times because of dumb comments . These were the Toys I was into years ago as well .

I notice that even with my rig. I have had kids tell me its pointless to have and not use but then i see them on a trail or a friend brings those guys on a run and they are blown away that im not running the easy stuff and my truck is still pretty. Funny most of them are running bypass anything hard or fun and beating the snot out of the rig doing it...

I saw your buddys green one on Craigslist FS last night.

I sold those front springs to Chris almost 20 years ago, when he was still part of the infamous "High Society" truck club.  I had them on my old '84 Toyota short bed.  Russell_G, PM me, I'd like to forward my contact info. to Chris (I'm assuming Chris still owns it).  I was building my '89 Toyota at the time.  Still have it, it'd be cool to get the two trucks together for an old school mini truck cruise.

Russell_G

Sent you a PM! Thats SO cool that you know the truck. My dad always told me about how Chris's truck was known all over.

Got back from Hawaii today and seriously saw 100+ toys that were lifted. I sat and talked to a few guys and asked about the tires and i guess they are getting hit with lift laws in Kawai too. sucks to hear that you cant have the cool old school show trucks anymore.
