The thing is i want a 37.  The only size remotely close to what I want for a 16" wheel is a 38x14.50 so unless I can find some 17s then I dont know what i am going to do.

Oh i was under the impression you had 15s in which case is the 37 1450 15.... weak.

got the track bar mounts cut off and the driver side plate welded in place

apimpdad

New shock hoops will be here tomorrow.  Today, I got the frame track bar mount welded up but I am waiting to weld it to the frame until the ballistic stuff arrive.

Finally got some new tires.  they are 38x14.50R16 toyo mud terrains and they are used with only 5000 miles on them.  I got those with wheels for 950, so I was pretty happy.  I also got an 88 4-runner steering box from the junkyard and put that on and I am going to rebuild the 94 box that was on there.  I started fabbing up my transmission crossmember also.  It is kinda hard to make a design and fab it up because of the angle of the drive shaft and exhaust.  But I got it started but not finished.

apimpdad

Still gotta finish it up though.

apimpdad

Got the bumper trimmed up and a new pitman arm on it.

how it sits now...

thanks for the comments guys.  That will probably be the last big mud venture for the tundra for a long time.  Time to do more work to it and go find some trails.  Looking for something new to do....

so infernal you work at all pro?
im running their springs right now and they are stiff as ill get out like i cant hardly shake the truck at all and there is hardly any body roll on the road, but they flex like crazy, i was amazed the first time i took them out, because before i was kinda pissed when i saw how stiff they were but now i am really happy. realllly happy. they seem to be a little softer now after abusing them on some bumpy A$$ roads but still drive great on the road. i just dont get it

It has been a while since I have looked at this thread. There are a few things I will be working on this year.

-First off, I will be sending my transmission to crawl box adapter back to Jim at Inchworm to get it machined to accept the new and improved seal and coupler. This will solve my ATF leaking into the open cavity between the tranny and crawl box problem. Hopefully the down time will be minimal.

-Paint. Thinking about a gunmetal gray but I am not for sure yet on that.

-Powder coat my wheels black. This will definitely happen if I paint the truck.

-Re rout exhaust about the lower parts of the frame rails. The FROR crossmember got the boot today. I will now be running just the modded transmission crossmember.

-Sliders. Been planning this for a while. Trying to make it happen.

-Tacoma manual transfer case. I have a feeling mine is about to bite the dust. Might as well do it right and throw a manual one in there to rid myself of the electronic crap.

And maybe after all of this, start bending some tube and looking into building a set of bumpers. Also I will still be working toward lockers or limited slips for the front and rear.

apimpdad

Got the exhaust off, working on getting that re-routed something this week.  Got my wheels back this week and had them mounted yesterday.  I have some money saved up to finally get a locker for the front or rear, I just gotta decide which end I wanna lock up first.

escout03

I think it looks better now than it ever has; I'd got after the rear first.  :twocents:
