UPDATE: I just swaped out the motor mounts for some new OEM ones I havent fired it up yet however I am sure the new ones WILL give me less vibrations and will also give the motor a little less of a jiggle. IF I SEE IT NEEDED I WILL PUT ON SOME CHAIN 3 LINKS TO THE MOTOR MOUNTS WELD THEM TO THE FRAME SO I KNOW IT WONT MOVE. I didnt get any picts of this being done so i am sorry for that however i will give updates on how the truck runs soon

UPDATE:

I took the truck to a mechanic friend of mine and he adjusted the motor for me so that it would stop ticking but he also noticed it was skipping and the #4 cyl. was not fireing no wonder it didnt have good power lol he fixed that for me and its now time to go  i was having a noise in the rear end and I didnt know what it was so I went to look and sure enough the bearings in the rear diff were killed. WHY DID THIS HAPPEN some "jackleg"  names will remain unknown at this time. desided that back when he put the new pinion flanges on to use a impact wrench needless to say he didnt know what the preload was on the crush sleve and he overtightened them causeing premature failure SO this brings us to here I am buying a new ring and pinion kit with 5.29:1 gears for the rear I KNOW I HAVE TO GET THEM FOR THE FRONT AS WELL BUT I CANT AFORDIT RIGHT NOW so i am just gona drop the front driveshaft and keep it unlocked until I can

I am also going to do rear disk brake conversion useing chevy brake parts. COMMING SOON

UPDATE

I installed my rear axle and while I was in the rear end I also bought the ALLPRO rear disk conversion that can be seen on this forum at this link here, http://board.marlincrawler.com/index.php?topic=74919.0

when I began to attempt to break my gears in I was told to jack the truck off the ground and to let it run for 30 min at 40 mph and let it cool for 1 hr and then repeat 2 more times for a total of 3 times. about 25 min into the first attempt the rear T case began to gear oil all over the place so i shut it down and had to find out why it did this  so I took the case down and was going to rebuild it but then I said heck why not just put that 4.70 gear case with twin sticks in and go for it ? so this is what i did I now have 5.29 in the rear diff. 4.70 in the rear case and 2.28 in the front crawlbox. I asked around on the MC shoutbox and got a true answer from Glen aka 79coyotefrg he is the one that told me to drive it for 5 miles and then drive it back home and let it sit over night 

FROM 79coyotefrg   do it 2 more times,  then you can drive up to 10 miles out then let it rest an hour or so (20  or 30 minutes is fine too) then back home (maybe a trip to walmart or some grocery shopping),  after you get to 100 miles total (all your 5 mile and 10 to 20 mile trips combined) then change the diff oil.  I suggest Valvoline gear oil.  then at 500 miles change it again.  at that point your good to go and you can also tow a trailer if needed.

so this brings me to where I am now  seeing how as i haven't had enough time to break the gears in completely I have been waiting on the time to get the gears broke in  but with the wife always working it seems and the kids always needing me here i cant find the time to do anything  I have reached the halfway point on repaying my Boss back for the gears I have made 3 of the 6 payments  @ 100.00 every two weeks  AFTER the front is paid and installed NEXT I should be able to buy them other two tires that I was needing to match the rears . until next time  keep the rubber side down

I bought the 5.29 gears for the front and will be here on Monday and then I will pay them off and  try to get the other two tires and then I am going to pull the front gears out and have them rebuilt and  while its torn down I SHOULD HAVE enough cash to get the other two tires and that way it will be all when the summer time rolls around

I just got off the phone with LONGFIELD SUPER AXLES and I have now purchased a nice set of chromoly  30 spline inner and outer axles AND also the outer axle locking hub FOR MY LIFETIME WARRANTY    MAKE IT SHINE MAKE IT SHINE

Update: I ran across a little bit of cash and I bought a set of chromoly  longfields and outer hub gear  and also the wiper seal so this gives me the lifetime deal. I also had my 5.29 front diff gears installed  on my HP E-Locker  and have it set in time as well

UPDATE: I bought some new body bushing for the old truck and swapped them out and also bought me a tube bender and and 10 sticks of 1.75x.120 DOM tube and  will begin making my exo roll cage this weekend. the truck runs great and has plenty of power for a old 4 cyl.  I am also going to replace the current rock sliders for the new ones that are stronger with the little  logo in them for a safety step. then I might reinforce the rear bumper a little with some double notched tube (LIKE THE NEW DESIGN)  I will also AT SOME POINT pull the dash apart and try to fix my currently stuck odometer  the speed cable works just not the number part    I THINK ITS STUCK. also while I have the dash apart I am going to install the inclinometer since my dash has been all cracked and the PO just covered it with a dash carpet pad ( why he jut didn't fix it along time ago ) I will more than likely have to put a thin piece of sheet metal under it and some self tapping screws to hold it together. but that is for another update. so until then see ya

naaa actually i am changing them so that 1 they will be stronger than the current ones and also so that they are in the correct location I welded them on a little to far back so I am just going to cut them off and use them on another project one day

but most importantly because of the really groovy turtle

 for the record a 1980 Toyota truck with a MC bumper front and rear, sliders  and a lift kit with a Warn 9000i with syn. rope with   36x 12.50 x15R TSL Super Swamper tires  and bead-lock rims  WITH NOTHING IN THE BED  AND ME OUT OF THE CAB AND TRUCK RUNNING weighs in at 3,540 lbs.
