So in short we've been having some major family delima lately.

My grandfather, the person who I grew up with from the day I was born. The person who first took me camping, fishing, wheeling, wrenching and all the great experiances I've had through out the years it going through some major health issues right now.

Without going into great detail, his kidney's are shutting down so he's on a waiting list for a new kidney transplant. In the mean time he has been getting weaker and weaker, started having a hard time breathing and didn't seem himself. Went in to get preped for dialysis for his kidneys and found out that he now needs a 3-5 way bypass heart surgery done immediately. So they're trying to get in as many dialysis appointments in to keep him stable enough to live through the heart surgery.

My grandfather means the world to me and we are very close, I would just really appriciate it if you all kept him in your prayers in his time of need.

I do genuinely appriciated all the help we can get, to get through all of this. I will post up progress as I recieve it.

Thanks everyone.

I'm very sorry to hear of your grandfather's health issues.  It's difficult to see loved ones fighting those battles.  Best of luck to him and to all of your family.

Sorry to hear of your circumstances Shamb. Wishing you and your family well for your situation. When all is looking glum you can look back on the things to be thankful for like having a grandfather that you know well and care for dearly.

I haven't had my grandparents since I was 8 and have since adopted my wife's Gma as my own and she too is going through some health issues right now. She's 94, God bless her.

Nonetheless, well wishes to you and yours.

Is he having the heart surgery or has he made it to the top of the kidney list? No matter I still pray for him.

Back from a long day at the hospital, the 4 way bypass heart surgery went well. His kidney's did okay through the surgery. I went in around 7 am and he was out cold but as soon as I walked through the door he woke up. We spoke briefly before he feel asleep again. We waited until 8am then they took him in for surgery. Gave him a quick hug and kiss on the head and told him that I loved him. We spoke with the Nurse at around 12:30 am and she said everything went according to plan. Spoke with the actual doctor about 30 minutes later and he told us the same thing. He said his kidney's still could act up so they've got him in ICU for 24 to 48 hours then he'll return to a regular bed for a few days.

I'm glad the worst of it is over and pray for a quick recovery. My grandma told me all he could talk about the night before was going fishing so that gave him some motivation to get his spirit up.
He was heavly sudated in ICU so we decided to leave, my grandma's probably there right now checking on him. I decided i'll go check in on him tomorrow and need to try and get some sleep.

I didn't sleep hardly at all last night and it's starting to wear on me.

We couldn't have done it without everyone's support and for that I am grateful.

I will keep everyone posted as I gather more information.

This is exactly what I said!

I spoke with my mom on the phone today. My Grandma went up and saw him for awhile today but he was still pretty sedated but feeling better. He already gave her a list of food he wants once he comes out!  hehe... he said he can't stand the food in the hospital.

Went and seen him at the hospital yesterday, he was complaining because they don't want him drinking alot of water for his Dialysis.

Today was our ultrasound for the baby so I call my mom to tell her we're gonna stop by and let her know we're headed to the hospital and she inform's me that he's already home!

... I find that kinda odd but.. yea he's home already. A few days after open heart surgery and they've already got him home. He doesn't really remember the past 7 days and didn't even realize that I was at the hospital nearly all day for the surgery and have since him at the hospital since. Probably all the medication they've had him on. He's glad to be back home with his beloved toy fox terrier "Daisy"
Also being in the comfort of your own home is always good. He goes in on Wednesday for Dialysis and the following Thursday they'll be pulling some kind of tube out of his chest that was hooked to his heart?

He's a complete joker and was full of stories to make us all laugh, he seem's to be much better then before. As long as he sticks to the diet they will be giving him on Wednesday and sticks to the therapy to get his heart used to pumpin' normal again.

Again, the biggest thanks I can give to everyone of you for the kind words and word of encouragement.
