Looks like you've got some free AC through the firewall

Nice save on not busting up the windshield in a million pieces!  When you get a chance, what's your frame height under the door at the bottom of the frame to the ground?  And at what psi in your Iroks?  I'm trying to get an idea of how tall I sit compared to other 4Runners on 40's!

Yeah man, I was too lazy to patch it, now I like havin the hole in the floor.. Its nice knowin where that tire is when it starts getting tippy. I think im gonna patch it with plexi glass or somethin now, dont want my girlfriend ending up with one foot :crossed: haha

Under the door ground to the frame is 26.5. I run 2-2.5 psi all around to get them to grip the best. The iroks seem to do well when completely dry, but get any moisture or dirt stickin to them and they SUCK! Next tires will be Krawler stickys for sure.

Im picking up a complete 86 4x4 pickup with 22re syndrome tomorrow morning for my efi conversion and for rear end/transfer case/steering box for my other 4runner The cab looks to be in great shape, interior decent. im kinda thinkin about just swapping the cab over to my frame to make the conversion easier... plus id be starting with a fresh body. What do you guys think??? let me know

a cab swap would be cool.  is the 86 you are getting a regular cab?  thats the one thing to keep in mind.... less room!  a regular cab will feel alot more cramped than your 4runner. but if you are not concerned about room then i say do it!

Yeah it is, thats the only problem I see. I really like my 4runner body, its just be nice not to have to mess with wiring in the cab for the efi swap and to start fresh again. one thing is for sure, if i put the truck body on, im building an exo just like yours. If i stick with the 4runner its going to be an internal cage.

yeah it would be nice to not have to swap any wiring!  i had to swap the harness inside my cab due to some burnt wiring issues.  it was a major PITA!  i hate crawling around under the dash doing that crap.  and i would agree with the exo idea, that new truck has a pretty clean cab and it would be nice to not destroy it.  i just like the exo because i dont have to worry about damaging my windshield and i can still put full doors on it, which is necessary around here because it gets cold!

oh and the next thing i need to do as soon as i finish up the rear end of my truck is to put an x-brace over the roof and an x-brace in the main hoop. that really needs to get done before i actually do roll it over!

wiring sucks! Ive had my 85 apart a few times and it is fairly simple, but I always seem to miss somethin.. I would definately put an ex cab body on it.. I could live with the single cab, but itd be nice to have some more room.. Oh well, I have time to decide as I want to finish the rest of the good wheelin season down here without taking it apart again!

I dont remember you flopping on collateral Damage. When was that? What fall?

Oh Yeah, I am the guy on your hood pulling out the windshield

peacesells

Right on man, I took a retarded line on that one.. Did you go on the night run with us to cd? I didnt go all the way over, just on the drivers side and about 10 feet of air under the pass front tire on that weird v groove that you have to cross over, the one the white truck pulled his driveshaft apart on. Nobody noticed because everyone was back at the start with the broken birf dude.

That explains, I was back with the broken birf dude. Did you know he laid it on its side going back down backwards?

peacesells

Updates:
After my buddy sheared off his hub studs running 37's, I decided to go to drive flanges from longfield

I was tired of the terrible stock seats in my yota, so I found a nice seat out of a 07 mustang gt in the junkyard for $20. The most comfortable seat I have ever sat in! installed easily and fits good, best addition to the truck so far.

went wheelin is florence saturday, ran elvis, axle alley, overdose, X, martinez, and back out box canyon. we finished my buddies truck at 1 am the morning that we left. It was a great day, about 50 miles of dirt. had to winch the first fall on axle alley and stalled on the top of the big fall on elvis due to my carb.. Picked up quite a bit of body damage, especially rocker panel damage. all and all it was a great day, no breakage, good weather, good people. Unfortunately I did not get many pictures

Nice pics. I think i am going to go with longfield flanges too. Already have the arp hub studs, just need to install them. PLus i hit my hub selector on a rock and now its a pain in the balls to turn. Was eric running arp hub studs when he sheared them?

peacesells

naa, he was still running the stock studs. I should have went with flanges from the start, I didnt unlock my hubs once in the 250 or so miles my truck has on it with this build. now my weak link is the tcase output shaft
