It shure is pretty. I know it has done some pretty hard trails, but where are the dents? Every scar, smudge, scrape or dent on my truck has a story. Not many want to hear then but I carry em proudly.
I have a pic of my truck when it was clean shiney and dent free in my toolbox at work, and another in the garage to remind me of what it was before those proud moments. Its good to reflect sometimes.

Marlis truck will always stand out in my mind as the one, the one so many strive to be like, as status symbol if you will.

Well she's had her share of dents, but they are very few and far in between. Since Marlin became it's 2nd owner in 1984, the truck has only been on it's side (drivers) one time, and it was a customer who was driving it  Whooooooops!!

Having a Crawl Ratio in excess of 1,000:1 really helps with avoiding dents, but I'll tell you what, Marlin NEVER uses that ratio when wheeling. I think the most I've ever seen him use is Dual 4.70:1 in 2nd gear (320:1). Heck, with me, when I get in a pinch, I immediately drop it to triple down and wished I was lower. Marlin has got some experience I'll say that :talkingn:

Hey Mike, these pics should be blown up for posters to show with the truck when the truck is on display so people not familiar with it (God knows who that is...  :gap:) can see what this truck does and maybe appreciate it more for what it is.

Who doesn't love this truck? it's awesome!

Wow Pep, nice picture! That guy on sitting next to Marlin is my good buddy Remy (bigrems82) and I am driving! I bet that pic is from about 1999, when we switched from BFGs to TSL SX's which worked waaay better on the wet mossy rocks of Surprise Canyon.

You guys want some old pictures? :eyebrow: :eyebrow:

Here is Marlin coming down the "Widow Maker" on Dusy-Ershim trail - The pre-dual case days:

Check out the old school TLCA Logo, his famous "cattle" bumper, and the old-school dual front shock set :pimp:

A really old photo on a back road in the Sierras, this is pre-1990, maybe '87? I have no clue:

I think the date on this Panamint Valley photo reads June 28th, 1998! (that is me at age 17)

Here is Marlin climbing up the 7th waterfall at Panamint:

Here he is giving one of his famous driver's meetings complete with his authentic turn of the 20th century miners hat:

And here he is back in the original Toys-4-Fun TLCA club doing one of his many Safety Inspections, back when the FJ40 ruled the Toyota off-road world:
