Registration is in the Mail.     I cannot wait.

I paid for the extra meal, but there is no waiver signature yet since i don't know who my passenger will be.

That is why im not sending mine in yet.

Don't get me wrong.  I'm absolutely Not going to give up without doing everything that I can first.  Been busting the last few days.  I do however have to be realistic at some point.

#1  Time is a huge constraint but I think i can pull that part.  (I shouldn't have waited so long.   Me --><--Me)

#2  Money!  almost out and every time I turn around I need to buy something else that i didn't think about.  Easily 1K more in stuff.

#3  Broke!  See #2.   

#4  I'm just learning the engine build process.  If I don't get it in and broke in with at least 1000 miles on it before the round up, do i really want to take it on a 5 day 500 mile expedition untested.     Into the back country.

#5  On a trip such as this I like having at least a $1000 available on my credit cards in case the whole thing explodes and I have to pay to ship/flat bed it home.   Any sort of emergency so I can pull my own weight.  Wont be the case after all the parts are in.  See #4 

I'm going to do everything I can to make it with my truck.  But if a week before the round up if it doesn't feel good in my gut to take it, or the engine doesn't seem wright, I will just come to hang out and leave the truck at home this year.

pretty much my situation. i may not make it this year... my truck needs a lot of work... to make thru a long 500mi expedtion as well as 40 hours of drive time from here to there and back.

so Im not sure if ill be going down in my truck this year.

I believe so, but you may or may not get a t-shirt, or a meal, as they use the registration to plan the amounts.  


  Why not just send in the $ anyway, it goes to a good cause, so even if you can't go, its not like you're just throwing the $$ away

take the by passes it will make it alot easier

you can do it!  It will just take alot of driving.  

I'm on 31's and bone stock suspension.  Aussie locked rear, and 4:7's in a single transfer case and i did it with only a tiny bit of body damage.    Do you have sliders?

O yeah, those.  But sometimes you want to make it a little more challenging.

They will definatly save your rocker panels.     I was constantly on mine last year.  Loved it.

Even without a locker you can do it.  Don't let that deter you, but I would definitely consider getting one, if you've got the cash.  Your truck will thank you!

well looks like my registration is goin in the mail first thing in the morning. whether i can go or i cant (pretty sure i can go).  hopefully i can make it!!!
