anyone got  a set of birfs for sale blew both mine this weekend and am have a hell of a time finding some and wanna make it to the round up. im in hollister

Given that you're out, I might as well throw in the towel now as well...I can't get an engine built and installed in7 weeks and still have gas money.

Don't get me wrong.  I'm absolutely Not going to give up without doing everything that I can first.  Been busting :moon: the last few days.  I do however have to be realistic at some point.

#1  Time is a huge constraint but I think i can pull that part.  (I shouldn't have waited so long.   Me -->:slap:<--Me)

#2  Money!  almost out and every time I turn around I need to buy something else that i didn't think about.  Easily 1K more in stuff.

#3  Broke!  See #2.   :gap:

#4  I'm just learning the engine build process.  If I don't get it in and broke in with at least 1000 miles on it before the round up, do i really want to take it on a 5 day 500 mile expedition untested.   :scared:  Into the back country.

#5  On a trip such as this I like having at least a $1000 available on my credit cards in case the whole thing explodes and I have to pay to ship/flat bed it home.   Any sort of emergency so I can pull my own weight.  Wont be the case after all the parts are in.  See #4  :gap:

I'm going to do everything I can to make it with my truck.  But if a week before the round up if it doesn't feel good in my gut to take it, or the engine doesn't seem wright, I will just come to hang out and leave the truck at home this year.

I have a long side if that helps. Im in San Ramon.
1st gen yota truck. 37x12.5x15. 5spd dual cases, chevy springs in rear, toyota rears springs in front. Long bed....the list never ends..
Dont try to shift into 6th when u've only got a 5spd! Rubberside down doesnt always mean rite side up!
